These shots were taken in January when city was still under siege, ships of the Baltic Fleet are anchored on the River Neva. Various shots of gun emplacements around the city. Montage of shots of ships' guns and larger artillery firing during the January offensive. Various shots of formation of Russian bombers in flight, good view of bombs being released from aeroplanes.

    Panning shot of dead German soldiers lying in snowy trench outside Krasnoye-Selo. Various shots of Russian troops involved in house to house fighting in the town, good action shots. Various shots of captured German soldiers wearing warm clothing being herded along street, some of these soldiers were responsible for the shelling of the city. One of the Russian soldiers hits the prisoners as they pass him. C/Us of 3 of the officers - Senior Corporal Adolf Lipzert, Sergeant Otto Fetz and Corporal Rudolf Levin. Prisoners look very frightened.

    Various shots of woods in Ukraine, near Pripyet Marshes. Various shots of artillery in action, tanks travel across the snows at speed, infantry crawl along while under fire. Good shots of Russian soldiers firing machine guns. L/S of 1st Ukrainian army charging across snow towards Polish frontier.

    Various shots of infantry fighting in the towns of Mosyr and Kalinovichi during the advance to the border. The towns are reduced to piles of rubble. Good shots of Russian soldiers marching confidentially along the road eastward, while German prisoners straggle back the other way. Russian military song (National Anthem?) forms soundtrack.
