    This newsreel can be more precisely dated. Stills from it appear in the October 23rd 1915 edition of English cinema fan magazine \"Pictures and the Picturegoer\", which was published monthly at the time. Therefore it is probably safe to assume this was shot in October of 1915. The magazine issue in question can be found here: http://archive.org/stream/pictureg09odha#page/66/mode/2up

    To the right is the \"Our News Feature: Events of the Week\" section featuring newsreel stills from Pathe\'s Animated Gazette. The middle image on the top row, captioned \"THE GREAT ADVANCE\", is identical in composition to the above clip.
