• Short Summary

Opening of the National Eisteddfod in the grounds of Cardiff Castle in Wales.

  • Description

    Cardiff, Wales.

Various shots on a rainy day show the "quaint and historical rites" at the start of the National Eisteddfod of Wales. A large crowd watches the Procession of the Bards for Gorsedd at the Logan Stone in the grounds of Cardiff Castle. A man in flowing robes standing on the stone plays a fanfare on a trumpet, then another man makes a short speech to a man in Welsh (?). Yet another man in robes conducts the crowd as they sing a traditional Welsh song.
