Salmon fishing in Labrador - holes are dug in the ice.
L/S of a snowy landscape.
Three men walk along with two teams of husky dogs pulling sledges. Labrador - salmon fishing. Man pulls small trees from the sledge and puts them on the ice. A 100 foot net runs under the ice, with poles marking the ends. M/S of the area marked by poles. Eskimo digs hole in the ice and puts a cloth around the poles making a shelter. Ropes are attached to the net to make it easy to pull the net out. M/S of man digging a hole in the ice. C/U of man inside the shelter pulling the net out - fish are attached.
"Too cold here for ca'canny - you have to warm your hands by dipping them in the icy waters!" Eskimo does just that. He pulls more of the net and - more salmon. M/S of huge "Salmon larder" - a large wooden shed which has a huge pile of salmon on top. Men throw the salmon up onto the roof where a man stands and catches them. The dogs stand around at the bottom.
