From view helicopter on ground, with propellor revolving. CU. of the bronze statue of Christ with helicopter in background propellor casting a slight shadow over the statue. Ground to Air shot of helicopter taking off and in air. Various LS. of helicopter arriving at Rome, and of crowds of people greeting it, men unloading the statue of Christ from helicopter and placing it in the Square. LS. MS. CU. of Pope addressing workers gathered in piazza S Pietro & through radio, a message from Vatican Basilica.

    The event took place on May 1 1956.

    The statue is not "Christ as a worker" but "Christ the Worker". It weighed 12 stones and was made from bronze.
