Crowd stand in town square. Men standing on podiums jump down and raise up the large wooden emblems which represent St. George, St. Ubald and St. Anthony. This is an ancient and traditional religious ceremony.
The 'candles' - great wooden pedestals over 30 ft high - are carried through the streets of the crowded town by groups of workmen. Every once in a while they turn around to show their respect for the people.
Outside the church of St. Ubaldo the three candles are carried around amidst a huge crowd. The candles race off again out of the square followed by groups of men.
