    High angled shot of lots of cars parking in a large field either side of a drive - the makeshift parking arrangements for the races. Crowds of people walk to and from the vehicles, many carrying umbrellas. Various shots M/S of buses and cars arriving at the race course, policemen in capes direct them.

    Intertitle: "Still, some came in the 'good old fashioned way'."

    M/S of a stage coach drawn by four white horses driving through the crowds of race-goers. Similar shots of more stage coaches arriving.

    Intertitle: "Hundreds of buses made fine Grand Stand".

    Panning shot rows of buses and charabancs parked in rows facing the course, people watch races from top decks.

    Intertitle: "The King arrives".

    M/S of a convoy of cars arriving, policemen clear the crowds out of the way, some people cheer.

    Intertitle: "Wet and dismal conditions did not prevent a huge attendance".

    Panning shot of packed spectator stands, many people have their umbrellas out.

    Intertitle: "In the Paddock".

    M/S of horses and jockeys being lead around an enclosure, people watch from behind a barrier.

    Intertitle: "The Parade".

    Various high angled shots of horses and jockeys being lead passed crowds and onto race course.

    Intertitle: "The Start".

    Various shots of the horses lining up for the start of the race. A rope rises and the horses gallop off. Various shots of the race in action.

    Intertitle: "Tattenham Corner".

    More shots of the race - the horses are seen coming around a bend.

    Intertitle: "CORONACH wins for Lord Woolavington, and gives Joe Childs his first Derby Winner".

    High angled shot of the horses coming down the final furlong.

    Intertitle: "... and in slow motion".

    Intertitle: "CORONACH first! - the rest nowhere!!"

    Slow motion M/S of the horses racing towards the camera. Panning shot of the horses riding off the course and through the crowds, Coronach and jockey Joe Childs are escorted by two policemen on horseback. High angled shot of Coronach and Childs coming into the crowded winner's enclosure. Some of the crowd clap and cheer, many of them look very well heeled (lots of top hats).

    Intertitle: "Steve stood down this year so as not to disappoint his millions of followers".

    C/U of jockey Steve Dongohue in his riding hat.

    Panning L/S of a grand spectator stand, crowds mill about tents and marquee in front.

    The race took place on 2 June 1926.

    One of the intertitles says it was Childs' first Derby winner. It was actually his third - he had won it in 1916 and 1918 in war-time substitute races at Newmarket.
