  • Description

    Absam, Austria.

Full titles read: "THE DANCE OF THE MILLERS - Come with our cameraman now to Absam, in the Austrian Tyrol, where for three hundred years the peasants have celebrated the harvest by dancing their queer Millers' dance..."

L/S of peasants dressed in traditional Austrian clothes dancing (folk style) past a watermill. L/S of a man playing an accordion. M/S of men and women dancing in a circle outside a quaint looking country cottage. They then keep turning in a circle, however the men practically lie down and hold onto the hands of the women above as they turn.

The men are handed large sacks which they throw over their shoulders. Nice L/S of cottage with a spectacular backdrop of the snow capped mountains in the background.
