  • Description

    No title.

C/U of a woman holding a deck of cards. There is an audience in front of her, they look to all be in the open air - perhaps at a fair or fete. A girl walks up to the woman, takes a card from her hand and curtseys. She has a large card around her neck representing the 9 of diamonds. High angle shot of a group of children milling around by a tent. Another child walks towards the women - she is dressed in a short frock and has a card around her neck representing the three of clubs. She takes a playing card and curtseys.

High angle shot of large number of girls wearing playing card outfits. "You never saw a pack of playing cards shuffle itself like this" reads the intertitle. The girls all move around. High angle shot of some of the girls standing around. "And then the dance of the cards - stately and charming - " Adults in medieval style garb decorated with hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades do a refined dance holding hands. This is possibly part of a pageant or similar entertainment. They dance, pointing toes, going under each others' arms etc.
