    Full title reads: "Putney-to-Mortlake. The Boat Race. Cambridge again triumph over the Dark Blues for the 8th successive time - after thrilling race!"

    River Thanes, London.

    One team carry their rowing boat down to the water and get in. The other team also get their boat into the water. The two teams form up at the starting point.

    Intertitle reads: "2.28 - 'They're Off!!'."

    The Oxford and Cambridge University teams set off along the River.

    Intertitle reads: "Hammersmith Bridge ... Cambridge lead by 1 1/4 lengths ..."

    More shots of the race as the boats go under the bridge.

    Intertitle reads: "Here's a new view! (at Barnes Bridge) Light Blues lead by 2 lengths ..."

    The Cambridge team are pulling ahead. Nice shot as they pass under the Bridge showing crowds on top run from one side to the other to get a good view.

    Large crowds line the banks as they watch the two teams row by. Cambridge now well in the lead. The two teams finish.
