King Leopold III (formerly Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium) was driving when the car lost control and went into lake. Queen was thrown from car and against a tree.

    Prime Minister and members of Belgian Government wait for arrival of Queen Astrid's coffin at railway station. Various shots of Queen's coffin being driven through crowd lined streets of city to sound of bugles. Very sombre atmosphere, even street lamps are draped in black. The hearse drives to Royal Palace.
