• Short Summary

The BBC Mystery Singer performs 'Thoughts' wearing a black cape and eye-mask.

  • Description

Titles read: 'NOW Pathe Pictorial has pleasure in presenting - Another Artist Popular On The Air And In Variety - THE BBC MYSTERY SINGER'.

    Pathe Studio, London.

The curtains at the top of a short staircase open and we see the BBC Mystery Singer standing there in a black cape and eye-mask, singing a short introduction to his song - "Though a mask may hide my face, in my heart there is a place for love" etc.

He then goes into the slow and sombre song 'Thoughts'.

Cataloguer's note: I have no idea who this man really is - does anyone out there know? I think this was a popular gimmick in the 1930s - the plot of the US feature film 'Wake Up And Live' revolves around a mystery singer on the radio.
