    River passes by some trees. Group of men operate an "Archimedean Screw" - a device which enables them to extract water from the river and lift it to another level. It is a kind of large tube which rotates, picking up water. C/U of end of tube in water. C/U of man rotating the handle. Shot which shows man made trench of water which has been extracted by means of the archimedean screw. A primitive means of irrigation.

    Note: this film was shot in Egypt - see documentary called "Egypt" record a. Two prints have been joined together.
