    Just to let you know the thatcher's name was my grandfather, Walter 'Reg' Parrott and his helper was Harry Papworth. Both from the village of Thurleigh in Bedfordshire. Can't confirm the dates for you but the barn they thatched caught fire so probably the 1944 date.
    Can't tell you how happy it made my mother to see the clip. Thanks
