These buses were an exact copy of the LGOC (Forerunner of London Transport) ST class, which comprised over 1000 vehicles. The chassis were AEC Regents, built in Southall and the bodies were built in LGOC's workshops in Chiswick. In the UK, with war service forcing longer service than designed, they last weren't withdrawn until 1950.
