  • Short Summary

A contrast between sunny London and snowy Quebec.

  • Description

    London.

Title: "Spring Arrives. 1924's eagerly awaited first spell of Spring sunshine brings throngs to Hyde Park".

Various shots of people on horseback riding up a dusty path in Hyde Park. M/S of a crowded pathway - people of all ages wander up and down, some watch the passing horses. M/S of more people walking up a pathway - many of them are mothers or nannies pushing prams.

Intertitle: "A shivery contrast to ... Quebec, Canada, 10 days ago!"

C/U of a cameraman wrapped up in warm clothes, he is trying to operate his camera - a difficult task as it has become stuck in a snow drift! L/S of people trying to walk in a blizzard, the snow falls so thickly we can see only a faint outline of buildings. M/S of people running down a snowy street into a building, a tram drives past.

Note: some of the footage of Quebec is used in a separate story in G 1067 - QUEBEC STORM.
