  • Description

Titles read: "Sportshots - (No. 10) - Popular sports and Sportsmen under the Cine-camera lens. 'Dixie Dean' - Described by Charles Eade - Sunday Express Sports Editor. This week Charles Eade presents Everton's famous Captain".

Everton football ground - Liverpool, Merseyside.

M/S of William Rolfe Dean - better known as Dixie Dean - wearing a jumper and shorts, hanging from the top of a football goal post and pulling himself along. C/U of Dixie - he looks like a cheery sort of bloke. M/Ss of him skipping with a rope (looking a bit gormless here), throwing a ball around, and boxing with a man in a suit. Dixie does some dribbling and kicks the ball (some shots in slow motion).

We then see Dixie leading the Everton football team out onto the pitch for a match before a huge crowd. Dixie tosses a coin with the opposing team captain. Brief shots of the game, then Dixie scores a goal. C/U of Dixie smiling.

Note: for search purposes - Everton FC / Football Club.
