At Sandown Airport on the Isle of Wight we see several shots of competitors packing their parachutes for the 1959 British Parachute Championships. Air to air shots of parachutists standing on the wing of a Tiger Moth and jumping down. They are trying to land on a target cross on the ground. As they come floating down one by one, people on the ground make notes according to how near the target the men land.
One man has a torn parachute, so he opens another and floats down safely. The winning jumper, Norman Hoffman, draws in his parachute. Hoffman is congratulated after being announced the winner. C/U Hoffman smiling.
