    The International Motor Speed trials are resumed at Brighton, Sussex for the first time since 1939.

    M/S of Group Captain Donaldson and Squadron Leader Bill Waterton standing in front of a Meteor jet plane, both in RAF (Royal Air Force) uniform. They tell Pathe how they broke the air speed record of 616 miles per hour. Waterton has a magnificent handlebar moustache.

    "Mrs Wisdom" is Elsie Wisdom, also known as "Bill".

    "Group Captain Donaldson" is Edward "Teddy" Donaldson.
