    MS John Parsons, Pathe reporter, interviews American blues singer, Sophie Tucker, on her arrival at Southampton on the SS Queen Elizabeth. She says she's very happy to be on English soil again after 11 years. (Nat. sound). LS John Parsons assisting Sophie Tucker out of the covered gangway of the Queen Elizabeth. MS John Parsons interviews actor Ronald Colman's wife, Benita Hume, asking her why they have left their daughter behind. (Nat. sound). CU Ronald Colman. Parsons asks what his candid opinion of British films is today. Colman replies: "Well, its a very, very high opinion. I think pictures like Great Expectations, This Happy Breed and Brief Encounter - the few of those I've seen lately are wonderful pictures. I think what they need and will probably now get, is greater distribution." (Nat. sound). Additionally, various night shots of the SS Queen Mary liner arriving at Southampton.
