    Trailer opens with shot of clapperboard snapping shut as person off-camera says 'Cyril Fletcher in The Careless Sneezer, scene one, take one".

    Various shots of comedian Cyril Fletcher reciting a poem in his 'odd-ode' voice about a man called Ebeneezer has a cold but doesn't sneeze into a handkerchief, so spreads his cold among war workers. Cyril ends by saying "The moral is that careless sneezes delay production and spread diseases. Remember, the British public is not to be sneezed at". He makes a big sneeze into a hankie.
