    Campbell's car 'The Bluebird' is rolled towards the starting line for a record attempt. Tyres are changed to slicks for the run and the engine is primed by mechanics.

    Crowds watch Blue Bird speed up and down the beach.

    Sir Malcolm Campbell stands with his crew of mechanics and talks to the camera about his joy at raising his World Land Speed record. He thanks his crew. The men shout 'three cheers for the skipper' and lift Campbell onto their shoulders.

    This record-breaking run took place on 22 February 1933.

    "He thanks his crew" - amongst the crew visible are Leo Villa and Harry Leech.

    Harry Leech, (mentioned in my earlier comment), was one of just 5 survivors of the R-101 airship disaster of 1930. He was also awarded the Albert Medal for rescuing another man from the burning wreckage.

    He's visible from 00:47 onwards, he's the man with the glasses next to Malcolm Campbell.
