Great footage of slimming machines - group of chorus girls use electric vibrating belt devices.
THIS DIGIBETA VERSION HAS BEEN MADE FROM THE PRINT - VERSION ON TAPE *PM0874* WILL PROBABLY BE BETTER QUALITY AS TAKEN FROM THE NEGATIVE.
Introductory intertitle reads: "Not content with dancing the floor off the Hippodrome, these young ladies from "Mr Cinders" believe in shaking a loose limb off stage -"
High angle shot looking down on 8 chorus girls standing inside big rubber bands attached to machines. They wear shorts and sweaters. They lean forward and turn the machines on. The bands begin to vibrate and the girls shake! At first they are leaning backwards into the band, they then turn so that the band is around their stomach. C/U of one woman smiling broadly as she is shaken. Dissolve into a C/U of her body being vibrated.
Dissolve into a shot of the girls leaning back with the bands around their necks. C/U of one of the girls with a big smile shaking away. She leans backwards then makes a funny face as the machine does its work.
Intertitle reads: "This looks like a case of "A shake a day keeps avoirdupois away!" Shot of four girls in a row with the bands around their arms. They look backwards and smile at the camera. Dissolve into a shot of them with the bands around the tops of their thighs. Dissolve into a low angle shot of their shaking legs. "The man who invented these health machines must have studied a blancmange." The girls crouch down with the bands around their thighs. High angle shot of the girls. Another shot with the girls standing up, legs akimbo and the bands around their waists. Excellent!
