Aerial views of the Cornish Coast which is threatened by oil from the tanker. Aerial views of the tanker nearly underwater, in two pieces now. M/S soldiers on field telephone and radio. Mr Maurice Foley representing the Government takes a look at the operations. Various shots of general activity showing detergent being issued. Large drums of it are thrown onto contaminated shore. Volunteers with watering cans also. Birds covered in thick oil are treated. Troops continue to spray beaches. Fireman also spray beaches with their hoses. Various shots of Porthleven showing contamination. Troops move in with more equipment and the battle to save the beaches is in full swing.
