Material relating to newsreel story 'MAME' PREMIERE - 69/17.

  • Description

Selected Originals (offcuts, selected scenes, out-takes, rushes) for story 'MAME' PREMIERE - 69/17, film ID 2093.23.

Similar footage to cut story showing Ginger Rogers posing for the press in costumes from the show 'Mame'.

Lots of shots on that fabulous cut-out moon! Ginger looks extremely nervous when the moon is hoisted up with her on it, but I think she is just acting - she's too much of a pro to really let us see her like that. She models a few costumes not seen in cut story, and poses in a Father Christmas hat and beard.

We then see her doing some tap dancing across the stage for photographers and doing some high kicks - go, girl! She definitely has a dancer's posture - very elegant.

Posed shots of Ginger talking on a telephone - looks like prop from the show.

This is really great stuff of Ginger working hard for the press - well worth a look!
