Narrowing down this clip's current date range, the game seen here is the Scottish Cup Final of 1928, played on 14 April of that year.

    Rangers won the game 4-0.

I was delighted to come across your newsreel of the Celtic v Rangers game of 1928.My father played for Celtic in that game …. he was the fifth man out of the tunnel. just behind the great Celtic Goalkeeper, Johnny Thompson, who was accidentally killed in a match against Rangers 3 years later.
Rangers won the 1928 game 4 - 0 but my father told me that it could have been a different result had it not been for some miraculous saves, early in the game,by the Rangers goalkeeper, Tom Hamilton. I have lived in Canada since 1965 but on a trip back to Glasgow some years ago I obtained some old newspaper articles about the game and my father did receive very favourable comments about his play during the game.
He considered Patsy Gallagher( Celtic ) to be the greatest player he had ever seen and after taking me ..many years ago to see Scotland v Hungary…his comment after the game was "Patsy Gallagher" would have beaten the whole team ..on his own. Sincerely, J Donoghue
