• Short Summary

Strange routine by entertainers Scott and Whaley.

  • Description

    Pathe Studio?

Entertainers Harry Scott and Eddie Whaley are introduced by an unidentified M.C. Paperwork calls them "two Star Variety and B.B.C. artists".

Scott and Whaley are two black entertainers. One of them is in "black face" which is rather bizarre. Perhaps the man in "black face" is actually white but it is all very weird so it is hard to tell. The man in black face wears a trampish suit that is too big, the other man looks very smart in tails and bow tie. The former is the "fool" and the latter very intelligent and smart.

The two have some comic banter about drinking water with whiskey, they then perform a song which may be called "Crocodile Isle". Very odd.

    MC is Leonard Henry.
It was not unusual in early Vaudeville for Black artistes to black up.
