Great story shows fashion models in training, 1944-style.
Titles read: "SCHOOL for Mannequins".
Several shots of two girls in rather shapeless two-piece swimsuits doing special exercises while a lady pulls their waists and hips about. Commentator explains that the girls are in training to be models in a fashion house.
Another girl in a nicer swimsuit appears and is instructed on the best way to hold her legs and feet to show off shoes nicely. The trainee models have books placed on their heads then walk up and down a raised platform to work on their deportment.
An experienced mannequin, very glamorous with a sculpted coiffure that has a light streak running through it, watches the girls. She then demonstrates the correct way to walk gracefully onto the platform and pose with an ostrich feather fan.
We then see two of the budding models changing their clothes backstage. To keep their makeup and hairdos from getting mussed they tie chiffon scarves over their faces and heads while they take off and put on clothes. A dresser does up a row of buttons at the back of a dress for one of them. Final shot shows the two girls posing together, looking poised and elegant.
