    Stills of balloons, kites, dirigibles and early flying machines. Early plane taking off. 1900 period parade through streets, could be Victoria in Ireland. Troops departing for Boer War. Horse soldiers crossing river Boar War, and dismounting to set up gun positions. Funeral of Queen Victoria. Mechanical trench cutting in field. Caterpillar traction machines in use. Poster "War declared on Germany". London Street scene. Kitchener inspects troops. Soldiers marching to the front line, and being transported in trucks and buses. Loading timber into trucks (trench defences ?), and soldiers climb on top. Trucks depart.

    Men out of trucks and into the trenches. Man with breathing apparatus climbs out of tunnel. Building underground defences. Checking electrical connections. Huge explosions on battle fields. Man walks across crater. Soldiers carry wooden ladders into the trench. Primitive accommodation by river. Horse drawn soil scoops making hillocks. Boats and Barges full of sacks travelling along river, pushed by paddle steamer. Building railways. train and trucks moving through mountainous terrain. Camels led across pontoon bridge. Indian soldiers cross very long pontoon bridge.

    Large tank on battle field. Military parade past the Cenotaph in London. George V and Mary on ship.
