The race featured was called "The Motor Six Hours International Saloon Car Race".

The date of the race was 6 October 1962.

The eight references to "Mike Parks" should all read Mike Parkes.

"Christopher Laurence" should read Chris Lawrence.

The No. 39 Volvo mentioned is the Volvo 122S of Jacques Patte.

The Zodiac mentioned is the Ford Zodiac Mark 3 of Paul Hawkins.

The No. 3 Jaguar mentioned is the Jaguar Mk II 3.8 of Mike Salmon.

"J Blumer" mentioned on the final line is Jimmy Blumer.

I've now found an official programme for this event, and need to make the following amendment to my earlier comment - the race was actually called the "International Six Hour Saloon Car Race", sponsored by "The Motor" magazine.
