    "Tyres. Since Safeguarding, six new tyre factories have been started by foreign firms employing thousands of British workers. Look at this one - " L/Ss of a very large tyre factory.

    "Gloves. Employment in the fabric and leather glove trade has enormously increased."

    "Artificial Silk. Twenty-three new artificial silk factories have been set up since 1925" Various shots of women at work in a silk mill - good shots of stockings being checked and steamed into shape then laid out and packed into boxes.

    "Safeguarding has also helped other industries, such as:- " A list follows - Pottery, Optical Lenses, Enamel Ware, Safety Razors. Panning shot of a factory. Interior showing women at work - presumably the safety razor factory. C/U of two women working at a bench packing small boxes. Intertitle reads: "Bristles quickly and painlessly removed by the 'Ever-Ready'" - cute sequence where an animated razor passes over the words and they disappear, as if being shaved away.

    The list continues with Watches and Clocks. "Employment in Safeguarded Trades is Better" M/S of lots of workers passing factory gates. Following sequence uses animated words which rise and fall as appropriate: "Employment has gone up, Dumping has gone down, Exports have gone up, Prices are lower." Continued on 3301.05.
