  • Short Summary

Interesting film about protection of British industries against foreign competition.

  • Description

    c 1930

    Continued from 3301.04

Animated graphic sequence shows the "Effect of Safeguarding on Exports." - an increase of 38%. Those industries not safeguarded have had a decrease of 9%. Nice animated graphic follows with a clock's hands pointing out the letters S A F E G U A R D I N G.

"Support the Conservative Cause! More Trade, More Work." This slogan is placed over shot of a Union Jack flag blowing in the breeze!

Note: this is presumably an early "Party Political Broadcast" type film for the Conservative Party. Interesting propaganda feel to the film and nice use of different styles of titling to get a message across.
