    L/S of farmers gathering hay. Several scenic shots of the countryside around Ambleside. Children collect rushes, heather and flowers to make into crosses. M/S of the children with their finished crosses. They march through the town to the church of St. Oswald. The camera pans down the spire to the door as they enter. Various shots as the children are given lumps of gingerbread, good shots as they eat them.
