The Queen is wearing a strange turban made from grey and silver tissue with silver veil. M/S of the new predictor machine used by the British army which can judge the height, speed and direction of enemy aircraft. M/S of a model of an antiaircraft gun. Several shots of King and Queen viewing the new inventions. M/S of the King trying out a pair of field glasses (or binoculars).

    L/Ss of the King and Queen being driven through the streets of Birmingham, large crowds wave and cheer their arrival. Several shots of the King and Queen inspecting the Austin aircraft factory at Longbridge. Brief M/S of the Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. L/Ss of the Queen talking to patients at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Edgbaston. Several shots of the King at the British Industries Fair. He watches a man working at a machine with the Mayor and the Lord of Dudley. Several shots of the Queen opening new set of council flats. Good M/S of the crowd cheering and waving Union Flags ('Union Jack'). L/Ss of the royal car leaving Birmingham.

    The "British Industries Fair" reported upon here took place from 20 February to 3 March 1939.
