L/S of Royal car arriving on quayside at Portsmouth, Hampshire. L/S pan of sailors lining the decks and gun turrets of liner ship Vanguard.
At Waterloo railway station in London we see Princess Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth II) and Princess Margaret getting onto the royal train.
Back at Portsmouth, King George VI inspects Royal Marine Guard of Honour.
Several shots of the royal family arriving at Portsmouth by car. The two Princesses get out first, followed by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother). They are greeted by officials.
Shots of HMS Vanguard. The royal family walk up gangway to Vanguard, accompanied by Queen Mary, Duke of Gloucester and Duchess of Kent. Royal Marines guard of honour "Present arms" and "Slope arms"; King inspects Marines. Queen and Princesses wait on deck under a canopy for King to finish inspection. He walks over to them.
