    At a Civic Reception to welcome the Royal Family we see the King making a speech about coming to South Africa and sending good wishes to the people of the country - he makes several pauses and seems uncomfortable.

    The King, Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother), Princess Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth II) and Princess Margaret shake hands with officials and dignitaries.

    Shots of the cheering crowds at the reception. The Cape Town Administrator makes a speech of welcome to the royals. Queen Elizabeth talks to nurses (short M/S). Royal family arrive by car at Civic Reception. Another section of a welcoming speech made by unidentified South African dignitary.
