Several shots of a barge with royal family in small barge nearing the shore. They leave the barge and are greeted by dignitaries. King George VI, Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother), Princess Elizabeth (later the Queen Elizabeth II) and Princess Margaret walking through garden, enter the house where Napoleon lived during his exile and died. Several shots of the royal family observing a giant turtle King feeds the turtle with a banana. Close up shot of the turtle eating. More shots of the royal family browsing around the island. Several shots of the young men sliding down on hand rails of flight of stairs (St. Jacob's Ladder) - town seen below. More shots of the coast and the town from the top of the hill. More shots of the royal family walking back to their barge, crowd cheering around. They return in the barge to the moored Vanguard.
