It anchors by jetty, a Wren and a sailor pass down Royal Mail sacks bulging with post. Narrator says we may recognise man at boat's wheel. C/U of man steering boat, he wears glasses and is quite skinny, could be famous personality.

    Various shots of River Thames; we see Thames barges, river pleasure boats and speed boats. Various shots of sailors on board former training ship "Worcester", now a base for a section of the Auxiliary Navy. We see an officer shouting to wake sailors in hammocks below deck. The sailors tie hammocks in bundles before going on duty.

    Various shots of officers watching men manning guns in exercise. We see sailors rushing to gun emplacements on ships, on land and on patrol boats. L/S of aeroplanes in flight.
