• Short Summary

A look at Stretford, and Burington where "Rock of Ages" was written. Bucks and Somerset.

  • Description

Rock of Ages and stormy Stretford.

Stretford, Buckinghamshire. Various shots of the high street, M/S of the Cock hotel, C/U of the sign, M/S's of the Bull pub nearby. If story started at the Cock hotel it was soon carried to the Bull where it was further discussed, hence the phrase 'cock and bull story'.

Burington, Somerset. Various shots of the scenery around Burington, M/S's of the rock in which Augustus Morrow sheltered during a storm and wrote the hymn "Rock of Ages". M/S of a boy stood next to a cross on a hill. Various shots of the lovely scenery again. We hear the hymn being sung throughout.
