M/S of two girls sitting in a punt floating down the river. We then see "...the rowing girls of the Metropolis, hardy and strong." A group of girls run towards their rowing boats, then climb in with their oars (or blades). They row off.

Sign reads: "Waterman - by appointment to his majesty." Girls follow behind in jaunty scarves and hats carrying oars. Another team of girls carry their own boat. Various shots of girls carrying boats, getting in and rowing off.
