    Lack of equipment for repairing agricultural machines is causing a crisis on the land. At Wandon End Works we see Mr Oliver, head of the firm, explaining the cause of delays to a customer.

    Shots of a blacksmith trying to manufacture makeshift spare parts. The works manager puts a card reading 'Too Late' on a new haymaker that arrived after the harvest had finished.

    Workmen push out a light tractor, minus an engine which is unobtainable. A farm tractor is brought on a lorry for repair. Pan of the machines stacked in the yard awaiting repair.
