  • Description

Location of events unclear - could be Greece.

World War One rescue dogs. Two Red Cross workers walking through field with dogs on leads, they are pulling cart. Shot of man taking dog off lead. He signals to dogs, they run away. Dog finds man lying in field, he picks up the man's hat in mouth and runs away. Dog brings hat to his handler, the Red Cross worker. The man pats the dog and shows the hat to his companion. They take off following dog, the other dog pulls cart. They find the injured man who is unconscious and lift him onto the cart (used as a stretcher). Looks like a training exercise, staged for benefit of cameras. The rescue dog looks like an Irish Wolf Hound.

    Modified WPA record.
