    Grumman Hellcats and Avengers warm up on aircraft carrier then take off and swoop low. L/S as they fly in formation. Pom-pom and ack-ack guns fire at Japanese ships. A bomb explodes near the American aircraft carrier. A Japanese plane spirals down into the sea. M/S of navy plane. L/S of Manila bay. L/S of Japanese cruiser and destroyer on fire. Various shots as the planes land back on the aircraft carrier. One is on fire and hangs off the side, the sailors train their hosepipes on it.
