    Pembroke Dock, Wales.

    Nine officers and men of Royal Air Force are killed when flying boat (seaplane), bound for Singapore, crashes into mountain side in Sicily. These pictures were taken before they left on their doomed mission.

    Various shots of flying boat in action. We see them taking of from sea. Good shots of pilots operating seaplanes and of landing skis of aeroplane lifting off water. Various L/Ss of 4 aeroplanes in flight.

    The aircraft seen here is a Short Singapore III flying boat.

    The crash reported in the text occurred on 15 February 1935. A magazine article of the era, reporting the crash and the names of those killed, can be found on the attached page under the headline "Crash of a Singapore Flying Boat....

    How can you be sure that this is the Singapore III that crashed into mountain in Messina Italy? I ask because if it really is, then it is likely that my uncle is one of the two pilots on the film.
    jamied the link you give to report of the crash doesn't work. I have seen some newspaper reports but would be interested to see this one.
