I was a five year old kid living opposite the Simpsons over the railway bridge, Parkhall street in 1959. I was a bit wary of the the little boys as they were a bit coorse and I may be wrong about this but my my tin pram was buried in a deep puddle! Agnes was a kindlier big sister.

It's interesting there is also a current large family in EK that's been in the news recently.

Clarks shoe provided all of them with a pair of shoes if they could have their feet photographed in a line for a newspaper advert.

Before our tenement was compulsory purchased and demolished by EK corporation, STV came to film an old waterpump at the side of the house on the railbridge side, I've no idea why but I would love to know.

This is my dad's family (my dad Michael is in the film, he was the 3rd oldest, his elder sister and brother were not in the film). Another 3 children were born into the family after the film was shot!

Sadly my father passed away 8 years ago, so never got to see the film, although he did remember it being filmed.

My mum is in the video - Agnes. Lovely to hear that she was like a kindlier big sister to you Carol. She was an amazing and very special lady. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2013 so I was unable to tell her about your comment and ask her if she remembered you.

Kimmacsim I met Michael your dad with my mum when I was in Scotland about 14 years ago. Lovely man - they were a very special family.

Shauny598 How are you and your family. Please feel free to get in touch. I'm filling out an ancestry page on the Simpson family at the moment.
