  • Description

    Titles read: "PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT INSISTS".

Washington DC (?), United States of America.

M/S of a seated President Franklin D Roosevelt making a speech. He says that he has asked Congress to pass legislation under which the President will be authorised to stabilise the cost of living, by the 1st of October.

He goes on to say that inaction by Congress by that date will leave him with an inescapable responsibility to the people of America, to see to it that the war effort is no longer in peril by the threat of economic chaos.

Cataloguer's note: poor Roosevelt looks rather tired in this item.
