  • Description

    No titles.

    Middle East.

Various shots of Australian GOC (General Officer Commanding) General Moorshead presenting ribbons to award winners of the Australian Army. Commentator regrets being unable to identify the soldiers, as the details have not yet become available.

At another presentation, the Victoria Cross is presented to Sergeant Smythe, a South African hero of the desert. We are told that he took over command of his platoon and stormed an enemy strong point. He destroyed the enemy position with hand grenades, captured the crew then smashed up an anti-tank position. His fellow soldiers give him a cheer.

"General Moorshead" should read General Morshead, (Leslie Morshead).

    "Sergeant Smythe" is Quentin Smythe.
