Sir Anthony Eden gives a New Year message from Downing Street.

Conservative Prime Minister, Sir Anthony Eden, delivering his New Year message to the nation (natural sound): "I want to express to each one of you personally, every good wish for a happy New Year. This is the season when we, each one of us, try to prepare our resolution for the New Year. We're determined to keep full employment. We're all agreed about that. We are also determined to maintain our high standard of living... but if we are to do these things, we have got to sell more abroad... we have to continue to export an increasing share" CU. Pathe News cameraman, Eden's speech continues. MS. Eden speaking: "...of our production. And then there's the question of peace. Always in our minds, you can be sure we shall be doing everything we can to reduce tension between the nations at any time and at every opportunity, and we shall stand stoutly and firmly with our friends, in particular, I look forward very much to my visit to President Eisenhower early in the New Year. I'm sure we shall have much to talk over together, and as a result of our talk, will be of help to the peace of the World..."
