German politician receives a humour award during the carnival season
POLITICIAN GETS SPECIAL AWARD
VS. at the Rhenish Carnival. During carnival season an award, the highest Rhenish order "Against beastly seriousness" is given to a politician whose political speeches and general activities make him worthy of a decoration for rare humour in office. This year the award is given to Professor Paul Mikat, the German Minister of Culture in Rhineland-Westphalia.
