Palasco says
Italian Campaign - Soldiers of the 1st Carpathian Rifles Brigade (3rd Carpathian Infantry (Rifles) Division) of Polish II Corps resupply a mountain outpost by pack mules in early February 1944 near the comune of Rionero Sannitico in the Province of Isernia close to the German Gustav Line. Several of the Muleteers appear to have Italian uniforms - Italy having changed sides by this point in the war.
